Samsung Tab S2
A Life Less Ordinary

For the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy TAB S2, we had to demonstrate its sleekness and its powerful capabilities which was made for work and play. Since the audience was young male adults who spent most of their time online, we created an interactive dual-narrative video, showing two sides to the same story by simply hitting the TAB & S on the keyboard while watching the film, allowing them to see an ordinary and a less of an ordinary life.

The Dual Narrative

Overlaid videos on the microsite contained two storylines of the same situation and the same character. The difference was that the TAB S2 side of the narration had a positive ending with the sleek and ever so versatile tablet while the ordinary life side of the story was slightly goofy and often faced with misfortune. 

The Microsite

The microsite was the hub for the entire communication plan. It hosted the interactive video plus product demos and descriptions. Live customer care was also available to answer any of the questions related to the new Galaxy TAB S2.

The minimalistic design of the microsite ensured the focus was on the interactive video. The contemporory look was created to reflect some of the material used for the TAB S2.

Overlaid videos switched when TAB & S keys pressed

The video switched stories at any point while watching when a user held down the TAB and S keys. Once they let go,

the ordinary life story continued playing.

The responsive microsite was able to extend its interactivity on all devices. While desktops and laptops used the keyboard, mobile devices had the TAB and S keys on the video itself to switch stories.

Tactical

Tactical web banners were placed through out the campaign to educate some of the functionalities of the new GALXY TAB S2. The videos played up to a pivotal halfway mark of the story and paused until the user held down the TAB and S keys on their keyboard to resume playing the video. The banner communication was recorded to have been one the most interacted in the other wise passive medium.
